  2. QUESTION. for assignment 6, with the team roles, first of all, we only send one email, right? Are you going to do that Nephi? (thankyou ;D)

but also who is going to do the roles of audio, scrum captain, and scrum leader? (i'm actually not even sure I know what that means...)

And for assignment 7, is that another one person thing, or do we each turn in a revised game pitch?

Thanks guys, and sorry for being so clueless >.>

  3. I posted some sketches in the drop box so there is something to work with for the sprint.

    1. Sammi - your drawings look awesome! i think we brought up drawing style consistencies last time. Just an idea, if you can (or want to) do the sketches and character/main drawings, i will totally be assistant and do line art/colors/shadings for you? just one idea to split up the work in a way that won't end up in a million different art styles.

    2. Actually yeah that would split the workload up nicely! Does everyone have Photoshop for layering and coloring?

    3. Also, I think it would really be cool if everyone in the group got to design a character (including their personality). If anyone doesn't want to then someone else can make an extra character or we can just do fewer.

  4. I just uploaded what I created thus far for the Holodeck (tech demo). There are some issues that I'm working out with Unity right now, so I couldn't get as much done as I wanted to. I did however go completely overboard and did more than I probably should have. *cough* It's a Lord of the Ring's game *cough*. Did I say that out loud. Well try it out if you can. I'll work on it some more when I get a chance so that you can initiate conversation and be able to flirt with the Mouth of Sauron (He's single ladies).

  5. Dating Tips/advice-

-Don't lie, it will bite you in the ass later
-If you meet someone and that person is not making eye contact, messing with their phone alot, or seems uninterested in what you are saying, they probably don't want to go on a date with you.
-Try to find common interests in people you find attractive. A pretty face isn't enough to justify dating them.
-Shower daily and always wear deodorant. BO is the fastest way to chase away potential dates.
-Look around you for someone to date. Try to date people in your class, who takes the same bus/train as you often, who work in the same building etc. You automatically have something in common.
-Make try to look attractive. Be at your own personal best. Wear clothes that don't have holes and that don't have a cracked/peeling screen print on them, groom yourself (clean up your beard/goatee, tweeze if your eyebrows meet in the middle, clean and trim your fingernails, trim/style your hair), and have fresh breath (buy some whitening strips ($15 @Walmart) if you have very stained teeth).
-What's inside is what counts, but if you don't put ANY effort on your outsides, it's hard to initially get people interested in you. If you don't take care of yourself, people will assume you are lazy and that you won't care enough to treat them kindly, be on time, fulfill promises ect.
-When you ask someone out for the first time, ask them if they want to do something easy and neutral. EX: go out to a cafe, bowling, skating, movies, lazer tag, play pool, or a local event. It's easy for them to say yes if it is something that easily accessible and somewhat cheap. Double dates/group dates are also a good option because then he/she could invite a friends so there is less pressure on him/her.
-If you are going to pick someone up for a date, throw out garbage/wrappers/cups from your car and make sure it smells fresh.
-Dress for the occasion. Wear clothes appropriate for the activity.
-When on a date, ask the person about themselves. Be careful not to ramble on about yourself too much.
-If you want to go on a date to a restaurant, find out what foods the other person likes/dislikes in advance so you don't take a vegan to a burger joint.
-Play it cool and don't get nervous. Even if you are actually nervous, if you pretend to be relaxed the person probably won't notice (wear extra deodorant if you are prone to nervous sweating).
-Avoid cologne and perfume. They might not appreciate the smell and could be allergic.
-Use hair gel/spray sparingly. If your hair is crunchy, you've used to much. It will make you look greasy during your date.
-Girls, easy on the makeup. Apply foundation slowly and make sure to blend it well (especially below the chin). Try to avoid heavy eye makeup as well. If he likes you, he should like you for you, not your goopy made up face. Light makeup is welcomed, but don't obscure your features.
-Simple questions are your best friends during a date. Easy stuff like what music do you like, favorite movie, food, color, game, a country you want to visit etc. Don't ask super personal, deep questions like where do you wanna get married, what are your parents names, what size bra are you etc. Keep it light. He/she will let you into their lives deeper later on if they are interested in you.

  6. Hey guys, I put the questions and responses in the dropbox under "art that needs to be approved." It's not art, but that's what I wrote down in my notebook lol. Just wanted to make sure it doesn't get lost.

Let me know if you guys think the questions should be different.

    1. Okay the dropbox will not let me upload the images so I emailed them to Kyle.

    2. It won't let you upload them? hmmm that could be a problem later.... It should just be a normal folder you put them in... what is it saying when you do it?

    3. There in the dropbox right now. I don't know what went wrong when you did it.

  8. So I'm looking on canvas to see if an executable for the tech demo is needed yet, but I see nothing. Does anyone know if I need to turn in anything tonight. From what I see my first real deadline is Feb 25 when the prototype is due.

  9. FYI, when you send me characters or any other artwork that has transparency (no white background). It would be a lot easier for me if you took care of that by sending me the image in a png format.

    1. Also Characters don't have to be in a 16:9 aspect ratio. That only applies to Backgrounds or anything that will take up the entire screen.

    2. The "tech demo" is in the drop box. Play it and we can discuss it more in detail this coming Tuesday. Although the writing and everything else is not that good, the mechanics are what you can kind of expect in the final version so stick to that when critiquing.

    3. Sorry somehow I thought a jpeg would be easier. I still have the original psd's on the computer at my internship if you want me to get png's to you instead. And I'm glad that (somehow) the dropbox got those files.

    4. I'm not stressing the png's right now since I was able to edit the files myself and get it in that format. Just a tip for the future.

  10. All art assets for Male #1 are finished and in the Dropbox under Art Assets> Needs Approval> Sami_Art> Male1_Expressions. I also emailed the png's to Kyle in case Dropbox messed with the color quality. Woo!

  11. So for tomorrow, is there anything that I ought to be coming to class for? I can do a lot more work at home for art assets than I can in class. I have the second male character fleshed out and am working on all the expressions. I made this one a ginger! But yeah I kinda would rather finish up the art for this character tomorrow and bring in all the psds and pngs Thursday on a jump drive (since dropbox is jacking up the color quality).

  12. No I think your good... Infact lets just make tomorrow a work day for everyone and we'll meet again on Thursday to collaborate and get everything initiated...

    1. So by workday do you mean we are meeting and are going to be working or we should all work on our separate things we have been assigned and then meet on thursday?
